Mitt’s Son Tagg Says Dad Didn’t Want To Be President, And That Donald Trump’s Hair Is Blue!

The Boston Globe’s report on the unnatural catastrophe named the Romney presidential campaign disclosed that Mitt’s eldest son Taggart had this remarkably candid revelation about his Dad:

“He wanted to be president less than anyone I’ve met in my life. He had no desire to . . . run,” said Tagg, who worked with his mother, Ann, to persuade his father to seek the presidency. “If he could have found someone else to take his place . . . he would have been ecstatic to step aside. He is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them, but he has deep faith in God and he loves his country, but he doesn’t love the attention.”1

Let’s put aside Mitt’s five year long trek through muck and mire of Presidential warfare for a moment as an inconvenient fact that Tagg appears unaware. I’ll trust Tagg on this, but it makes me wonder if the unrelenting effort we’ve witnessed since 2007 represents Mitt Romney when he does not want something, then watch out world should he ever work up even a tablespoon of chutzpah!

Upon learning of Tagg Romney’s observation I cranked up my cellphone and contacted the erstwhile 2012 GOP Presidential nomination combatants, oh, and Donald Trump and Sarah Palin too. See below the picture 2 for what turned ut to be their one sentence responses.

At far left, the shy and unmotivated Mitt Romney

  • Michele Bachmann      “Isn’t that just like a flip floppin’ man?”
  • Newt Gingrich               “I didn’t run for President in 2012, anyone who says I did is lying.”
  • Ron Paul                         “I don’t recall anyone else who was running.”
  • Rick Santorum              “NOW he tells me!”
  • Rick Perry                       “Huh?”
  • Herman Cain                  “Which Mitt Romney are we talking about?”
  • John Huntsman             “I did not run for President in 2012, and you can quote me on that.”
  • Donald Trump                “That slimy sonofabitch!!! People tell me he was born in Peru!”
  • Sarah Palin                      “Don’t ask me, I’m still p.o.ed at old man McCain, by golly!”

Given Mitt’s nearly nonexistent motivation for the Presidency, is a 2016 run in the offing?
