White House Denies Nine Southern State Petitions To Leave The Union, Will Instead Relocate Petition Signatories To The Three Countries Willing To Accept Them
Today, the White House responded to a spate of petitions from southern states whose signatories sought permission for their states to “peacefully” leave the union. In a letter from informing the signatories, Jon Carson, Director of the Office of Public Engagement1 explained in detail the reasons for the government’s denial of the eight petitions, but as you’ll read below, Mr. Carson provided a plan that will resolve all issues put forth by the petitioners:2
