DAVE BRIGGS, CNN ANCHOR: Making my job easy, transitioning to what happens with Congress because Republicans have not shown one glimpse of breaking from President Trump. And here’s what Paul Ryan said, I want to ask you about this Julian. What Paul Ryan said somewhat in defense of the way President Trump is handling this entire situation. [See transcript]
Chris Christie toadsplained it even more realistically; ought we not rejoice that there are Republicans who “tell it like it is”? He told MSNBC’s host Nicolle Wallace:

“Look, Hitler didn’t understand the manners of the Weimar Republic in the 1920s but he went on to become the Chancellor and President of Germany! And screw Godwin’s Law. It’s relevant! [See herr]
What people don’t understand is that they elected an outsider president. They elected someone who had never been inside of government and quite frankly didn’t spend a lot of time interacting with government except at the local level. And so the idea of the way that the tradition of these agencies, it’s not something that he’s ever been steeped in. So I think over the course of time, what you’re seeing is a president who is now very publicly learning about the way people react to what he considers to be normal New York City conversation. [Emphasis added][See article]
Never mind either that Christie casually said, we “elected someone who had never been inside of government and quite frankly didn’t spend a lot of time interacting with government except at the local level.” [Emphasis added] Interactions, which, consistently, was to bribe them, coerce them, or to convert them. Perhaps if Governor Christie had warned us . . .

Bad manners too. Hitler’s early days as “World Monster Intern” [Shamelessly – or only possibly – violating Godwin’s Law]
Meaningful discussion has officially ended.
